Platinum Accounting Australia is an accounting licensee network founded in Sydney in 2008. We started as a working accounting practice, and we still are one, with deep expertise in SME and high net worth clients. Everything we offer licensees comes from running a practice ourselves.

Our story

From franchisee to independent practice to licensee network.

Our story is the reason the licensing model exists. We have run an accounting practice inside a franchise, as an independent firm, and now as the back office for practices across Australia.

2008. Platinum Accounting Australia opens in Sydney as a franchisee of a national accounting brand.
2011. We begin lodging under our own tax agent registration, while still a franchisee.
2015. The franchisor closes down. We become independent and keep serving our clients.
What we learnt. Running a franchise showed us what works and what doesn't. The support and systems helped. The standard, one size fits all model didn't, because tax clients are never standard.
2021. We launch our licensing model. Accountants and bookkeepers run their own practice under their own brand, with Platinum as their back office.
Today. 50+ licensee practices across Australia, supported by our AI team, with 10,000+ tax returns prepared through our AI system.

Founder

Meet the founder, Coco Hou

Coco Hou is the Founder and CEO of Platinum Accounting Australia and Platinum Professional Training. She has been a CPA for over 20 years and is a registered tax agent, with expertise in SME and high net worth clients.

She built Platinum's licensing model from her own experience, first inside a franchise and then as an independent practice. She founded Platinum Professional Training so that education, practice and registration could sit in one place.
