How an AI powered accounting practice works
At Platinum Accounting Australia, your AI team does the groundwork and you do the work only an accountant can. Platinum does the final review and lodges. You spend your time with clients, not on data entry.
Frequently asked questions
What is an accounting licensee?
An accounting licensee runs their own practice under their own brand, using another firm's registration, systems and support. At Platinum Accounting Australia, licensees keep their own clients, work with an AI team, and have every return reviewed and lodged under Platinum's tax agent registration.
How is licensing different from a franchise?
A franchise asks you to trade under its brand and follow a standard system, usually for a large fee and a fixed term. With Platinum, you trade under your own brand, keep your own clients, pay a low establishment fee and have no lock in. You can serve each client the way their situation needs.
Who can become a Platinum licensee?
Accountants and bookkeepers who want to run their own business. Licensees include bookkeepers growing into tax work, corporate accountants starting their own client base, and registered tax agents who want to grow without adding staff. What matters most is your intent to build a practice of your own.
Do I need to be a registered tax agent?
No. You work under Platinum's supervision, and every return and piece of advice is reviewed under Platinum's tax agent registration. That means you can start your practice before you hold your own licence. If you want your own licence, Platinum Professional Training offers TPB approved BAS agent courses, and you can build supervised experience inside your own practice. The Tax Practitioners Board determines eligibility.
What does the AI team do?
Mia handles marketing, including your CRM, website, campaigns and automated workflows. Tess prepares tax returns, from reading client documents to completing the return in the tax return software. Remy researches each client's situation and drafts tailored proposals, which Platinum reviews before they reach the client. They do the groundwork so you can spend your time with clients.
Do I have to use the AI team?
No. The Launch package works the traditional way, without the AI team. Many licensees start there and add the AI team as their practice grows. We'll talk through which option suits you on your discovery call.
Who lodges the tax returns?
Platinum Accounting Australia. You review the first draft, then Platinum does the final review and lodges under its tax agent registration, with professional indemnity cover. Every return gets a second professional set of eyes before it reaches the ATO.
Do I keep my own brand and clients?
Yes. You trade under your own practice name and own your client relationships. Platinum works behind the scenes as your back office. Your clients deal with you.
Is there a lock in contract?
No. There's no lock in. Every licensee starts with a 12 month setup program, then membership continues for as long as you're in practice. The relationship is built for the long term because it works for both sides, not because a contract holds you there.
How long does setup take?
Setup runs as a 12 month program. It covers your brand, website, CRM, practice systems and AI team. How quickly you start serving clients depends on your experience and starting point. We'll map out your timeline together on your discovery call.
What coaching is included?
All members are invited to the monthly coaching program. It covers marketing, sales and technical topics, so you keep building your practice and your skills alongside other licensees in the network.
Can I become a tax agent through Platinum?
Platinum Professional Training (RTO 41438) delivers TPB approved BAS agent courses. Licensees can build their supervised experience inside their own practice while they study. The Tax Practitioners Board determines eligibility for registration.
